I wanted
to try a sweater that had the richness and softness of mohair, without
the long fibers. The answer was this wonderful sweater knit
entirely of kid mohair.
Kid Mohair is the hair sheared from
the first two sheerings of young Angora Goats. It's known for its
softness, strength, warmth and relative light weight. Mohair is
sometimes referred to as the “diamond fiber,” since it's not only luxurious
but also very durable.
Kid Mohair is softer and more dense
than traditional long-fiber mohair. It's also less itchy than
traditional mohair, but more expensive as well.
