I wanted to try a sweater that had the richness and softness of mohair, without the long fibers.  The answer was this wonderful sweater knit entirely of kid mohair.

Kid Mohair is the hair sheared from the first two sheerings of young Angora Goats. It's known for its softness, strength, warmth and relative light weight. Mohair is sometimes referred to as the “diamond fiber”, since it is luxurious as well as strong enough to wear out steel.
